Decided on a puppy?  Please be careful about buying a puppy from a backyard breeder. A backyard breeder is someone who has a purebred dog and breeds it without knowing anything about genetics, health issues or even knowing which dogs should never be bred.

NEVER buy a puppy over the internet, from a pet store or through the newspaper. There is over a 90% probability that the puppy came from a backyard breeder or, even worse, a puppy mill.
